The reason the fight scenes work so well in "Above the Law" is because Seagal uses his own team of sparring partners. They all know how to fall and take the blows he delivers because they all practice together. If you look at the 'bad guys' in his early films, you’ll see many of the same faces showing up in one film after another 🤔
Seagal is a dangerous fella. I know he isn’t the most popular guy nowadays and I don’t know how much of a nice guy he is but he used to be a big star. I’m sure he became difficult to work with and that possibly played a role in the decline of his stardom. I’ll give him credit, it’s very unusual to be the lead in your first film and it looks like you were doing that for years, and become a star over night. So, he had his time and I’m sure he made money. It was also cool to know he’s friends with Inosanto and trained together, hence appearing in out for justice
