  1. I believe that the star which was actually seen appeared as a singular light because of the distance, however, the star was a group of angels or stars as the meaning of a star is in Revelation. The shepherds saw angels in glorious light that were seen at a closer range to them. Obviously, they were ordained of God as his messengers. The wisemen saw, i believe, these angels as a singular light that led them to Jerusalem to find Jesus; however, the star (to the wisemen) disappeared which provoked an inquiry on their part to the people of Israel in an attempt to awaken them to the fulfilment of prophecy, the arrival of the Messiah. How many times shall I forgive Peter mentioned, Jesus said 70 x 7 = 490 years to the Jewish nation. Isn't it interesting that word spread far and wide of what these men had come to Jerusalem for? The King of the Jews. The word got to king Herod who investigated the claims of which he got the wisemen's answer "where is he that is born King of the Jews"? The end result to his probe is that he informed the wisemen where the King of the Jews was to be born. Upon getting their answer they started again on their Journey to Bethlehem at which time the Star REAPPEARED and led them to where Jesus was. Is it that the Star could not have taken the men directly? Of Course, they could have and didn't need to have an answer from man! I Can see in the disappearance and reappearance God's love for his people to awaken and warn his people in saving them even if he has to use those who seem to be outside the church/people of God to arouse those inside the church of the fulfilment of prophecy.
