  1. 2:23:25 Normally, Sam seems like a pretty fair minded guy to me, but here I have to say he's being slightly disingenuous.
Rupert Sheldrake is the only scientist I can think of that actually seeks out to scientifically test the validity of certain "psychic" phenomenons. There is a world of difference between someone claiming to be able to levitate a piece of paper with psychic power, something which James Randi exposed beautifully, and someone running experiments on the sense of of being stared at. This phenomenon is not at all "paranormal", it is practically a universal experience, and all that's left to do here is to test it scientifically. The presence of James Randi, or lack thereof, is of no consequence and has nothing to do with what Dr. Sheldrake is trying to investigate. Dr. Sheldrake is not trying to beat James Randi's challenge, he's not claiming to be someone with special and supernatural abilities, he's a scientist with an open mind who wants to test it empirically, and actually puts his money where his mouth is by sinking in a bunch of his own cash in maintaining tests like his online telephone-telepathy tests. Come on, Sam, that was kinda weak. Otherwise, great talk. 🙂
