Stand up should use the film rating sytem. This event is rated R for sexual content, rape, and religious content.
Then people can say, "i dont like that topic." Then pick a different show to see.

Well, here's the thing- rap lyrics can be very vulgar, and they aren't criticized for that. But they are criticized for homophobic and misogynistic lyrics. Guns N Roses were expected to be abrasive, but people drew the line at racist and xenophobic rants in "One and A Million". Stephen King can write a lot of sick storylines, but many people feel like the preteen gangbang scene was creepy and unnecessary. so artistic license is given a wide berth, but there IS a line, and there's one for comedy as well. comedy isn't some sacred cow that can never be analyzed or criticized, and it's not without responsibility. And that line is: what's the message of the joke and who's the butt of the joke. Just because it's a joke doesn't mean it can't be hateful. It can.
I assume you can get a degree in offended-ness or offended-ism now in college? Seems like these degrees will go far in the new industry that's booming in professional offended-ness…
