  1. Reading some of these comments, I’m so thankful I’m not a conspiracy nut job. I encountered one at a party once, claiming a pilot would have to constantly descend to follow the curve of the earth, lest he just fly off into space I guess.
I just said “have a good one buddy” and went to the next room.
There’s no point …these folks are way to deep down the rabbit hole.

  2. There’s no way he traversed the entire continent, and when you see his map, you can tell he did what might technically labeled a traverse, like traversing America by going from Miami to Naples. Not that it’s not remarkable, but he had permission, a Sat phone, and that was a safety net. But 54 days, doing 20 miles/ day? No, I don’t believe he could pull 375 pounds for that long in such an environment. I’d have to see him on day 25, and then get a better sense. Because 1000 miles in 54 days? 18.5 miles/day in minus freezing, pulling such a load? Unless he knew his route would be flat the entire way, fugeddaboudit!

But I’ll give him the benefit of my doubt, and say “Bravo! A remarkable physical feat.” For a 20-30 something prime physical specimen. What’s next?

And, is there a book or movie about it? Show that link!
