  1. The entire retail industry is close to being automated, from freight and haulage, to the stores themselves. We know it is possible with RFID and visual tracking to automate shopping to the degree you can just walk in, take what you need and leave and have your bank account debited. Stock rooms could be automated much like an Amazon warehouse, you could even have a robotic unloading system for your robotic truck and overhead robotic shelf stackers filling gravity fed shelves. There becomes little to no need for a person to do any of the work and this can be applied to many other industries. Under a capitalist model this is disastrous for anyone who relies on work to make money as there are fewer jobs with worse pay every day, the only ones benefiting will be business owners. It is getting to the point that computers and robots will just be a better option both in terms of cost and efficiency, if robots are doing all the work, why are we getting poorer and why don't we have more free time? I can't compete against a robot worker!

  2. UBI is not the answer to protect people who lose their jobs dude to automation. Rather govt should give mandatory govt funded training to people who lose their jobs so that they can get another job as soon as possible.

  3. this is how Democracy dies. Watch rules for rulers by CGP grey. When the gov't isn't dependent on the tax revenue from the citizens; democracy dies shortly after that.

When's the last time you saw someone riding a HORSE as a mode of transportation??? 150 years ago, horses were everywhere, no horse == you walked. Cars came along and automated the horses job away. What the HELL do you think will happen when the robots get advanced enough to replace large sections of the workforce???
