We hike a lot in the Rockys in Canada and I consider that grizzly footage to be very typical of how encounters go. On three separate occasions I have been in that same situation and every time the bear has relinquished the path, went wide around and then carried on. I think on a well trod path such as the one in the video, the bear is not so surprised to see people. It is a part of his territory.
Fan theory: Joe clearing his throat around the 1:25:45 mark while saying "we're just growing a bunch of people who have shitty ideas." Was entirely due to the conversation they just had about gun control lol.
