You may think clearly by ignoring politics, but one of the first things that will become clear to you is that withdrawing from politics isn't the same as politics being irrelevant. So, sure, disengage and have an ever-decreasing number of strangers make decisions that will effect your life. The absence of nuance in today's politics is primarily driven by the absence of people who understand and appreciate nuance. To take more time in life to watch Joe Rogan bitching about politics than to actually get out and vote is a relative waste of resources.
