1.) Control your anger (The key to excellent self-control)
(Proverbs 12:6)- “A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.
(Proverbs 29:11)- Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.
A person who is easily angered is a person easily controlled. A person who stays calm when insulted shows excellent self control and maturity in The Holy Spirit!
2.) *Do NOT refuse correction From the Lord or His servants from the Bible.
(Proverbs 26:11)- “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.”
(Proverbs 3:12)- “For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.”
(Proverbs 29:1)- “Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept correction, will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.”
(Explanation): Remember dear brothers and sisters, The Lord’s advice/ criticism of us is here to help us improve ourselves, NOT destroy our confidence. He cannot tell us what we want to hear all the time. He cannot tell us we are doing right when we are NOT.
His way(s) of doing things is much greater than our own. So for this reason, We must avoid ignoring the master’s advice to continually do things our own way.
I am afraid to say that ignoring the master’s advice will completely prevent a person from growing as believer all together. And politely speaking, is also a form of disobedience!
3.) Live the way the Bible/ The Lord says. The lost art of being more than a student of the Holy Bible.
(James 1:22)- “be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Remember guys, the Bible is not just a book to read like you would any other novel. It’s a book to READ AND APPLY to our daily lives!
It is filled with The Lord’s instructions for our lives. So We must NOT only read it, but we MUST also do what it says. Especially if we want to grow as believers!
