You made it through 7.5 minutes of good teaching then bam…blew it. I received Jesus at 15 years old. And while there was a marked change it was not as you say. I was suddenly not covered in sin so I wasn’t being influenced by sin. 13 years later I received the Holy Spirit which changed my nature. It is His spirit that makes all things new. Everything had changed in me and I was radically different. I thought differently, I reacted to situations differently, I approached all subjects from a different perspective . The most notable change was all my memories being intact yet no longer carrying any weight. Things I could never speak of due the horrific or shameful nature I could now easily talk about…as though I read it out of a book. No feelings at all came with these memories anymore. The rape, beatings, etc. were no longer effecting me at all. I quickly understood why people do evil and I had no difficulty forgiving them or myself. So you see even with Jesus I was still effected by these memories but when all things became new it was just something I new happened.
