oh also we have many stories of fairy's as well even recent ones. Apparently they used to come out at night and fish and a tribe who went down to fish early in the morning had scared them off and left their net and that is apparently how we Maori's learnt about the fishing net as we used wood spears and pounamu/greenstone fashioned into hooks to catch our fish. also a myth goes that one of our ancestors fished the whole South island (mayb north) island out from the sea. sorry i should know my peoples history better but i struggle with it as i was not really aloud to know this culture of mine and i am playing catchup and im glad the catchup is in Yashua as i have a better understanding of all of this unusualness. hello i just thought that you might be interested in knowing that the maori's of New Zealand have legends and it is because of your work and gary waynes and others that i realize that our myths may be true myths its just too cannny. Any way we have a myth about a man named tane mahuta who wanted longer working days and so he caught the sun with a rope and i think contended with it until it slowed down. Also there is a legend of the taniwha which is a sea serpant and im starting to realize that maybe as the nations were split with different languages our stories link up with the biblical stories with name changes. What do you think
