While I was born on US soil, I visit Mexico very often. When I visited it during the height of the COVID pandemic everything was very much still on lockdown. While we weren’t supposed to have gatherings of 50 or More people .. obviously as fiesta having Mexicans we decided to have a wedding anyway. While at the wedding, many of the local police forces showed up and began to demand payment or they will block the roads and impound our vehicles. So instead the daughter of the bride called the local cartel force that operates in the area and soon after 20 min all the police forces moved and the cartel workers that showed up were offered food and tequila from the wedding .. these problems are very much teal and as long as the cartels have the people on their side .. they aren’t going anywhere
