No reason to use the boarding schools, the Indian Wars, all that, as an excuse to fail or as an excuse for poor life decisions. So sick of hearing about "historical trauma." I'm an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe (MCT White Earth) and left the Rez, made a life, got a JOB. I didn't sit on my ass up at Pine Point, getting slobber-ass drunk, crying about "stolen land." I have family and friends who will NEVER lose that mindset and as a result, will be nothing but fat, drunk, lazy, pitiful slobs. There isn't a single, succesful Native who uses that "historical trauma" crutch. The ONLY people you hear that from are the lazy ass drunks and wanna-be white people/progressives.
