  1. Sure, being out of work causes depression. So does having a loved one die of virus. It isn't either-or. That's a false choice. What the problem is is that public health officials know that without social distancing and shutdowns the health system in the US – which was already halfway to hell in a handbasket in most rural states before the pandemic – would have been swamped with the dying without their intervention. What about the depression among healthcare workers and first responders in areas hard hit by the virus? It didn't happen because health officers want to subvert capitalism, which is what that Trump was implying and feeding into, it was to prevent the collapse of the US healthcare system. That system, one of the most decentralized and balkanized in the world, would have tipped over without those measures. We all are going to find out what we missed the first time if we get a second wave in the fall without an effective vaccine, so get ready for an even larger blow to our economy if that happens. It hasn't "gone away" as promised, there was no "miracle". The virus is spreading in Brazil and other South American countries over our winter. Trust me, factory or restaurant workers will not go back to work to die for ten dollars an hour. You're looking at blood in the streets if that happens, exactly what these far-right groups want to happen. Accurate reporting, Joe, starts with you. How about reporting more accurately yourself, or do you, like Donny, only care about profiting off the controversy? You won't be able to roundhouse kick yourself out of health system collapse, trust me. Dick.
