Tithing is needed. Tithing should be preached. But when they start talking about wanting a "Baby Grand Piano" and harp on tithing right after that, I get nervous. I give to Amazing Facts various ministries, but get nervous when they seem to be going the way of the Catholic Church and 'Non-Denominational' churches in regards to wealth, luxuries, and opulence. Love SDA but am getting a 'hinky' feeling about the money thing. They might have a "power failure", even with crystal chandeliers.
The sermon must have fire or the fire must have the sermon). Lukewarmness doesn't do it. We need to be be on fire for God. May God help us to achieve this.
