The way I see it is if you do anyting on a uncontrollable and possibly cause you to lose your household or your job or somehow make you lose everything I would consider that a form of addiction. The whole thing with addiction is that you can't just not do it despite the things that you could possibly lose. I understand that there are forms of physical addiction. But there are a lot of drugs that don't have physical addictive characteristics that people are still addicted to.
