The Calendar Series: Evening to Evening or Morning to Morning? FYTube

The Calendar of YHWH has been an important topic for many as of late, and it’s time we discussed our understanding of it and how it works. Does a scriptural day begin at evening (night) or morning (sunrise)? #TorahCalendar #evening #Morning

  1. Thank you. I love the presentation yet i would lovingly disagree in that there is some explanations for your objections. Also there is some evidences that were not mentioned.

    Such as.
    John 20
19When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the taught ones met, for fear of the Yehuḏim, יהושע came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

That could not be the "evening" that starts at noon or sometime after as Luke shows us what was happening before John 20:19.

1And on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared

13And see, two of them were going that same day to a village called Amma’us,

28And they approached the village where they were going, and He seemed to be going on.

29But they urged Him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is >toward evening<, and the day has declined.”

The only evening that could have been is the evening that happens when the sun goes down,… Right?

33And rising up that same hour they returned to Yerushalayim, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,

And here the hour taking place is toward evening.. "day has declined"

    John 20
19When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week,

Shouldn't that read second day of the week?

Many other such like things.. Please consider with all Shalom intended.

  2. Enoch 72
3Every month at its exit and entrance it becomes changed; and its periods are as the periods of the sun. And when in like manner its light is to exist, (79) its light is a seventh portion from the light of the sun.
    (79) And when in…is to exist. I.e., when the moon is full (Knibb, p. 171).
4Thus it rises, and at its commencement towards the east goes forth for thirty days.
5At that time it appears, and becomes to you the beginning of the month

At what position does it appear? "Thus it rises, and at its commencement towards the east"
Sun sets in the west. Things were different before the flood.

    Notice
    Enoch 77
9During its diminution on the first day its light decreases a fourteenth part; on the second day it decreases a thirteenth part; on the third day a twelfth part; on the fourth day an eleventh part; on the fifth day a tenth part; on the sixth day a ninth part; on the seventh day it decreases an eighth part; on the eighth day it decreases a seventh part; on the ninth day it decreases a sixth part; on the tenth day it decreases a fifth part; on the eleventh day it decreases a fourth part; on the twelfth day it decreases third part; on the thirteenth day it decreases a second part; on the fourteenth day it decreases a half of its seventh part; and ON THE FIFTEENTH DAY THE WHOLE REMAINDER OF ITS LIGHT IS CONSUMED.

12Uriel likewise showed me another regulation, when light is poured into the moon, how it is poured into it from the sun.
13All the time that the moon is in progress with its light, it is poured into it in the presence of the sun, until its light is in fourteen days completed in heaven.
14And when it is wholly extinguished, its light is consumed in heaven; and on the first day it is called the new moon, for on that day light is received into it.
15IT BECOMES PRECISELY COMPLETED ON THE DAY THAT THE SUN DESCENDS INTO THE WEST, WHILE THE MOON ASCENDS AT NIGHT FROM THE EAST.
16The moon then shines all the night, until the sun rises before it; when the moon disappears in turn before the sun.
17Where light comes to the moon, there again it decreases, until all its light is extinguished, and the days of the moon pass away.
18Then its orb remains solitary without light.

Does this not suggest the month ends with conjunction.

    And

4Thus it rises, and at its commencement towards the east goes forth for thirty days.
5At that time it appears, and becomes to you the beginning of the month

Rising takes place in the morning.

  3. 22“And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin, and you,
    >>>>>>none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

How could they have left that night?

    Jasher 80
60 And the children of Israel delayed going forth at night, and when the Egyptians came to them to bring them out, they said to them, Are we thieves, that we should go forth at night?

The answer is to understand the leaving egypt was 2 parts.

    Pay attention to the timing.

13And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance of יהוה, >>>which He does for you today.<<< For the Mitsrites whom >>>you see today,<<< you are never, never to see again.

Today is before evening and a new day…? The deliverance was done that day, "today".

21And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea. And יהוה caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

22And the children of Yisra’ĕl went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left.

23And the Mitsrites pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24And it came to be, >in the morning watch,< (still night) that יהוה looked down upon the army of the Mitsrites through the column of fire and cloud, and He brought the army of the Mitsrites into confusion.

25And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty. And the Mitsrites said, “Let us flee from the face of Yisra’ĕl, for יהוה fights for them against the Mitsrites.”

26Then יהוה said to Mosheh, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and let the waters come back upon the Mitsrites, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

27And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its usual flow, at the break of day,

This really is morning to morning evidence..

Today – " sea returned to its usual flow, at the break of day," New day starts.

  4. DAY OF ATTONEMENT:
The Text actually reads that this Appointed Time IS on 2 days!
On the TENTH day of this seventh new moon is Yom haKippurim… It is a Sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your beings. On the NINTH day of the month… (Lev 23:27, 32) This is clearly the ONLY Appointed Time that has this reckoning, as the Text SPECIFICALLY points out TWO days. If a day started at night, why would the Text need to read 2 differing dates?
Adam, you didn't even mention one of the clear Biblical Texts (there are over 30) that clearly define a day beginning in the morning!
Aside from the clear chronological order of creation where YHWH lays down a light period followed by "erev" (mixing of light and dark) and "boqer" (mixing of dark and new light) where the MORNING clearly ENDS day-X, here are some others:

“This is the offering of Aharon and his sons, which they bring near to YHWH, BEGINNINGon the day when he is anointed: one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour as a daily grain offering, half of it in the MORNING and half of it at NIGHT.” (Leviticus 6:20)
    (2nd half, not evening. NIGHT)
“As for the flesh of the slaughtering of his peace offering for thanksgiving, it is eaten the SAME DAY it is offered, he does not

leave any of it until MORNING.” (Leviticus 7:15)
How can you eat all your offering during the night if you began at night?

“So they made their father drink wine THAT NIGHT. And the first-born went in and lay with her father, and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose. And it came to be on the NEXT DAY that the first-born said to the younger, ‘See, I lay with my father LAST NIGHT.’ ” (Genesis 19:33-34)
Creepy story aside, the language is specific – next day, last night.

‘This is what YHWH has said, 'TOMORROW is a rest, a Sabbath qodesh to YHWH. That which you bake, bake; and that which you cook, cook. And lay up for yourselves all that is left over, to keep it until MORNING.’ And they laid it up till MORNING, as Mosheh commanded. And it did not stink, and no worm was in it. And Mosheh said, ‘Eat it TODAY, for TODAY is a Sabbath to YHWH." (Exodus 16:22-27)
Again, the language is specific. Morning starts the Shabbat.
There's SO many mare that you ought to read the study on 2besavedcom/2bsdaystart and be sure to read the multitude of other sources (including Rabbis such as Rashbam) admitting the "earlier calculation was morning to morning" 2besavedcom/2bsdaystartextra
