The story of Atlantis is likely to be an allegory, but I really want it to have been an actual location. There have been small teams of scientists spending weeks at a time recording contact with what they think are forest apes somewhere in Washington State's vast forest, and what they have cataloged is astonishing. The behavior, and vocalizations are completely consistent with studies carried out on large primates in other countries. They knock trees – hit them with a loud "pop" – though exactly how this sound is produced has not yet been established. They throw stones – sometimes fairly large ones and are annoyingly accurate. They whoop and growl, They even run past the wood cabin at night ( the sound of the heavy feet running through the makeshift compound is crazy) and slap it so hard the whole thing shakes making the occupants inside extremely nervous. Despite their obvious presence and tons of high-tech equipment being used by the scientists, they always manage to stay just out of sight and obscure. The teams sometimes catch a quick glimpse. or eye-shine through the trees and undergrowth but these huge primates know how to keep their distance. I am certain that we will one day prove the existence of large forest primates in the vast and dense forests of North America. Remember, there are literally millions of acres of these forests that have never been surveyed on foot. We literally have no idea what could be living in them.
