  1. In regards to Shabbat. I have 6 children and my husband is a over the road truck driver. His job is to drive the truck and my job us to be a mom so for me to do housework on Shabbat would be work. We are told that no work be done and let's face it half of "housework" is work. I have come to fully enjoy Shabbat. The kids are older so we have a full prep day on the 6th day. I make enough food (and our menus are very well thought out and extensive) including breakfast for Shabbat morning. We clean and double feed as many of the animals as we can. All laundry and bedding is washed and put away. So we all can have a day off of cleaning and food prep. Now if something happens (a spill, one of the pets didn't get put outside quick enough, a broken pipe, or a backed up drain) we tend to it. But food gets reheated in the oven and dishes sit in a sink full of soapy water until the beginning of the first day. My main point is that it is easy for my husband to do no work but for me I have to draw the line bc that rest- that Shabbat- is so very important for my soul. I would encourage those men who are the sole providers for their families to encourage their wives and children to prepare as much as possible so they too can have rest.

  2. RE Wool: I sleep on the floor with only natural layers underneath. Bottom layer grass matting, then wool blanket folded in thirds, then wool batting, then another wool blanket folded in thirds. I love it. Now I want to research whether to skip the linen sheets when I'm sleeping on wool, etc.

  3. Linens, bless YHWH! What timing and beyond confirmation! I have been wearing a linen tie in my hair instead of "rubber-bands" (feeling that the latter were probably an abomination to YHWH) for many months now. But just 3 days ago, I began transitioning to linen sheets, not even knowing about the relative frequencies! (Just listened to fabrics part of video this morning.) (Just began repairing my favorite linen pants last night, as I reflected on how unbeatable linen is.) !!

  4. Here is an analogy regarding working on the Sabbath: your neighbor is choking on a piece of food on the Sabbath. Pharisees might have said it is unlawful to do the Heimlich maneuver on Sabbaths. Yahusha gave us the certainty to know we should do good. Too many call every action beyond breathing to be work. That said, I still find myself questioning things like cooking and basic clean up. I guess we have to make our own judgement call about where the line is, but we know is it lawful to do good if the situation calls for it.
