Bro, you're right on, but the airplane/mask analogy seems a bit backwards in this day, as we ought to be helping people OUT of dependence on commercial airlines and "masks," especially. But I know what you mean.
Some say that John was in Qumran from his birth until his calling. Qumran was a mirror of Jerusalem and the Temple and a place the priests would go. At Qumran, they would take an oath of eating nothing common or that wasn't prepared by others that had taken the oath and from Qumran. Hence why he ate of the land, locust and honey. Also some say that Yashua went to Qumran when he was called to the wilderness.
