  1. Ham saw Noah’s nakedness. Noah’s nakedness I believe is referring to Nia’s wife, Ham’s mother. Throughout the Bible we see many times that this is a man’s nakedness and in Leviticus we see it explicitly mentioned that it is a sin to have relations with one’s own mother which is called “a father’s nakedness.”

This is well beyond a son’s attempt to simply mock his father for passing out drunk naked. Han was trying to take over as the head of the family and we will see this done time and time again when a fight for kingship was established. The nakedness of a king or patriarch was always taken to show dominance and a change of rulership.

Canaan was cursed because he was the offspring of the sin of Ham and his mother.

  2. All speculation. No one knows what really transpired. Has had four sons. Why didn't Noah curse the eldest son, since in biblical times the eldest son got the blessings. Since everyone is speculating, maybe noah had a vision of Canaan doing something evil and cursed him. Ham did not uncover his father's nakedness. Pure speculation. This lie was used to oppress and murder a race of people in modern times. The Bible may be true, but man's interpretation is flawed.
