Yes,likely the male babies that Herod killed.The bible says,don`t weep for them,they will be back.Is it possible,they were born as babies in the last days?Perhaps,mute autistics?Maybe not.They will be virgins,not defiled by women.There will be no guile found in their mouths.Something to ponder.
Hi Rob, the thing is you say it "peeves" you a bit when people allegorise "stuff" but the thing is, or the problem I have, is some stuff you HAVE to allegorise. Do we think we are really going to see a women riding a seven headed beast with a cup full of disgusting things?, do we really think there are four horsemen riding across the sky, do we think there really is a women in the heavens giving birth with sun moon and stars all around her…no, it not going to happen, they are things you have to work out, its true meaning WITHIN the allegory. Yes some stuff is literal but other stuff isn't, I'm sure you must see that, and for me, therein lies the problem, who chooses what!
You know it says that the virgins "these are they which WERE NOT defiled with women" it doesn't say "these are they which DIDN'T defile themselves with women" so its seems like it would be the women that would be "doing" the defiling TO the virgins, these "women" would defile the virgins, but the virgins dont get involved, they dont succumb, if you will. (I am reading from the K.J version) Now lets look at the greek version of this scripture. If you look at the greek it doesn't actually say "men" at all, Strongs G444 says human being whether male or female, generically, to include all human beings, you are just presumeing they are men because they didn't defile themselves with women, but the greek never says men. So who could these "women" be.
The greek for women G1135 say any women, single, married, widowed, so literally a women, which is what Rev 14 says, "women". Now if you go to the base or root of this G1135 which is Strongs G1096, it says it means "to come" "come into existence" "to begin to be" " to recieve being" "appear in history" "come on the stage" and so on. Also in Rev 14 v 4 , in the greek it doesn't say that they were defiled but, the greek says that they "not were polluted" and for me that word polluted brings a totally different thought to mind than the word defiled. So what is this verse really saying and what is it possibly alludeing to. Could it be that the "ones" in Rev 14, were not caught up with being polluted by religious concepts. Please bear with me. If we turn to Rev chap 17, we have a women that gives birth to harlots, she is Babylon the great the mother of the harlots. These harlots or women, represent false religions throughout time immemorial, and she has riden the seven headed beast, that for me, represents world powers stretching all the way back to the first and this women that rides the beast is the harlots ( or in greek, prostitues Strongs G4204) mother. This would be ALL the religions that have ever been, throughout time, that are in opposition to the true one. our Gods, Yahweh. For it says that the women commits forniction, not adultery, but fornication with the kings of the earth, and this is the beast she rides and the beast of which the heads are attached to are satan.
So if we go back to Rev chap 14 we could paraphrase it like this, bearing in min Rev 17, that the mother of the harlots being her that gives life to all false religions, prostitues or polluters
"there are a 144,000 standing with the Lambkin on mount Sion, having the name of the Father of him written on the forehead of them. And sound of many waters and thunders were heard and voices of harpers, playing on their harps. And the 144,000 are singing a new song in veiw of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, and not one was able to be learning this (new) song unless you 144,000 the ones having been asssembled (Strongs G58 from G59) from the earth. these are those, whom with women, those that appeared in history or came upon the stage, were not polluted, the 144,00 are pure, they are virgins for they follow only the Lambkin wherever He may be going. These are assembled from the humans, firstfruits to the God and to the Lambkin and in the mouth of them was not found fraud, they were not beguilers, unflawed they are for they are in the sight of the throne of God"
So to be honest, looking at the greek I do think you can "knock on the head" all of the 144,000 being men and as for other thoughts of them being young children or virginal men, in light of the greek, it has to be back to the drawing board…dont you think.
Please look it up yourselves. We all have a part to play in piecing together this magnificent puzzle and I for one one just love it.
