Grew up watching my Old Man play "Golf" on the felt every time he had a visit…lol….if it wasn't golf….it was Snooker….if he was winning I got a roll of quarters for the video games….if he was losing….it was a loooong day….lol….
People just love to gamble . I used to hang out in a bar that was a dinner house in Long Beach, Ca. named the Twin Wheels. A lot of businessman used to hang out there like I did so much so you had an account for your dinners that you took customers out too. There was a lot of action there on anything you wanted to bet on , we used to bet on every at bat in a Cubs game back before Wrigley had lights & all the home games were in the day during a slow afternoon. I wasn’t in on the big bets but I did a lot of 100$ to $500 a game on Football, Basketball & Baseball . They would have bets on games & like set a line & for each run or point over would be $100. I wasn’t a golfer but all of my friends their golfed & I found out it wasn’t the playing of the game it was the gambling on each hole That attracted these guys.
