Im just glad i only had to experience alcohol withdrawals. I wouldn't allow myself to try other drugs out of fear i could get addicted. Cause when i did get my hands on pain meds i did tend to go overboard. Not enough to go looking for them on the streets or rummage peoples cabinets but if i got some i wouldn't hold onto them long.
"Sometimes I needed them, sometimes I didn't" A real man who understands the addiction and the necessity. Sucks cause that line can easily disappear. And its not 100% cause they wanna get high but like he said that pain that just stays and lingers with you is nice to numb for a while.
Opioid pain meds should be as cheap as alcohol and available to anyone who wants them.
Obviously I wouldn't recommend them to children…but informed adults should be able to have full access to whatever they want.
The war on painkillers has worsened the illicit fentanyl market. This is an undeniable fact.
Denying access to pain meds and causing people to go into withdrawal is illogical, inhumane, and immoral. It's medical malpractice.
The "first do no harm" business works both ways. The idea that giving someone pain meds is harmful but causing people to suffer thru the misery of withdrawal isnt harmful is a ridiculous notion.
The same logic applies to benzodiazapines. People should have a right to whatever medication they need without judgement.
I raced to this video to say how accurate opioid withdrawal is. I hope people who are in the beginning stages see this and get help and stop. It seriously is not worth it. By the time you realize you have a problem, you don’t even want to do it anymore but you don’t want to feel the withdrawals. Everything Kurt said was real. I also has this deep pain in my hand that I could t get rid of. I felt like chopping my hand off. Also whenever I’d go through withdrawal, my throat felt like I had a whole in it and I’d be spitting all day. Just the worst.
