TFR – 70 – Revolutionary Radio w/ Lex Meyer: Immortality Part 2 FYTube

This show originally aired on May 4, 2016. Heaven and hell. Life and death. What happens when we die? Do we go to Heaven or Hell? Or does the Bible describe a much different scenario. My guest Lex Myer believes the latter and I have to say, he’s made some really compelling arguments. See if you agree.

I added about 25 more minutes to this show, including a portion of the following video by Steve Moutria as sort of a counter-argument for you to consider: https://youtu.be/k6w0T0Eao6Y

  1. Lex does make a very compelling presentation that takes all of Scripture into account, letting the principles and patterns found throughout the Bible speak for themselves, leaving the Greek philosophy and church traditions at the door. I have long held to the reality that when we die, we die and await the resurrection. A disembodied soul journeying to the heavens, while a popularly held belief these days, simply is not rooted in nor found in Scripture. We are not promised such a thing, it goes against the marriage process found in Scripture between Yeshua and his bride, and again it brings into the mix Greek and Gnostic pagan philosophy. Lex does an excellent job of simply letting Scripture speak and Scripture speaks quite clearly on this issue should one choose to set aside the Greek pagan and church tradition lens that has unfortunately clouded this issue for so many.

I will have to do some more contemplating on the second death and eternal punishment issue. Lex's statements are compelling there as well.

I tried to listen to Steve Moutria's presentations, but could not seem to affirm some of what he was trying to assert. For example, trying to say that Abraham going to be with his fathers when he was buried implies or suggest a separation of a disembodied soul to go somewhere is not found in Genesis 15 or anywhere in Scripture for that matter. The Rich Man and Lazarus parable does not support that Abraham went anywhere at death except to the grave where he will await the hope and promise of redemption, resurrection, and restoration. Going to be with his fathers is akin to saying regarding someone who has died that they rest in piece. Rest of course meaning the obvious reality they are dead and in the grave. Going to be with one's fathers is simply a note that like their father's, they are going to the grave.
