This is certainly a two edged sword. Yes this observation seems to indicate a flat Earth, but it also indicates the sun truly sets. We definitely see the sun disappear under the horizon, and it's much higher than the highest altitude aircraft fly. So does this observation prove the sun model of the flat Earth theory is wrong? It does to me.
Because most planes are smaller than 36' tall boats and by the time they reach that distance they are more than 20,000 feet in the air at minimum. They are visually too small for us to see by the time they pass over the curve. And because they are so high up they have to go way further than 8 miles.
Doing the calculation correctly gives the following results from a viewpoint of five feet elevation.
A plane 1000 feet up will disappear below the horizon at about 40 miles.
A plane at the typical airliner height of 35000 feet will disappear below the horizon at a distance of 220 to 250 miles depending on refraction.
Now you see why planes don't disappear quite as readily as boats?
You only show your calculations for a few seconds, but it is clear that one of the mistakes you make is to assume that the observer's eyes are on the ground. The effect of observer height is not allowed for correctly if at all, it is not enough to subtract the observer height from the height of the object being observed. You should draw a line from the observer at a tangent to the horizon, but you draw it at a tangent to the ground under the observer. This mistake is an oldie. Were you really unaware of the correct way to do the calculation?
Please explain why I can see a sunset and then rapidly increase altitude and see the sunset again? Why can I see contrails from jet aircraft at high altitudes that are lit by sunlight after sunset has occurred at ground level? Those cannot happen on an FE model. Why can I not see something as bright as the sun on the other side of the earth at night if it's only 3000 miles away? Explain the the rotational motion of the stars around a fixed point in the northern and southern hemispheres? I've seen the videos, please don't waste my time with them, they don't explain how or properly simulate it I accept that the earth is a globe because it makes perfect sense and the model explains it. The Bible does NOT prove flat earth and those Christians that believe it are deceived. This is Satan's way of distracting us from what really matters. These rabbit holes just serve as idols that take our attention away from seeking God and discovering what he really wants from us. I found out about you through some research into the Nephilim and found your videos interesting, but once I found out you were a flat earther I just got frustrated and can no longer take you seriously. Honestly, how can you witness to someone and then start feeding them the FE conspiracy stuff? They'd would just walk away and then no longer trust any Christian again. Please do not waste your time with the FE nonsense.
BTW there are plenty of photos and video of aircraft going over the horizon, just look it up.
Any ship you can see near the horizon, with or without zooming, has not yet gone over the horizon. Come back later with a more powerful zoom and keep watching. Repeat until you see all the ships.
