One of the worse things I've gotten in my eye was a small rock that lodged into my eyeball under the eye lid. The Eye Dr. put my eyelid in a bracket to hold it up high an scraped the rock out with a small spoon shaped tool. I still have a mark on my eyeball where the rock was lodged.
