  1. Just imagine how stupid someone might feel to give up on chasing their own tail and accept their own limitations. It's human nature to dream and fear on a fictional level and simply believe it must be so. It's human nature to over estimate our impact as human beings, because we would rather believe we are all special, because naturally we are simply ecclesiastical beings.

And it's actually better to be able to finish things and also be the Michael Jordan of fish catching in your tribe. It just doesn't sound as cool when you put it that way.

  2. And then we plateau and realize our human limits and find out its elaborate science fiction.

We've been in a weird perpetual growth cycle. But silicon has its limits in supply and capability, light speed is an upper limit that makes going beyond alpha centauri impossible, and objectively you can't give technology a survival mechanism which is by our definition "artificial intelligence". That population growth has a top out point. Doom and gloom I grew up with until I realized technology is the modern alchemy. Never turned lead into gold. Never made an immortality potion. Learned alot about chemistry. Stopped believing fictional nonsense.

An inevitable plateau, that human beings are better off being able to finish things, than living in a faux forever accelerating capability.

I bet my life's savings right now elon musk is finding out the limits of neuralink and he's still grateful for how much it can do without delving into science fiction.
