So… I get lots of crazy responses on just about everything I do. But some of the stupidest ones recently are those which state that my experiment showing illumination of the underside of clouds was due to the reflection off my table (which had a non-reflective table cloth on it). Such stupidity was just begging for a response. And this is it.

I love the "Balltard" Song, it was great I need the words!!!
At the risk of being a balltard 😉 let me offer this. I am a former US Navy petty officer, with a specialty in fire control, meaning weapons. My primary training was surface to air missiles, but I also had training in naval gunfire. Specifically 5" guns. My first ship was the USS Oldendorf DD972 out of Yokosuka Japan from 1986-88, then the USS Nimitz CVN 68 out of Bremerton Wa. from 88-90. The 5" guns on my first ship were capable of hitting a target the size of a barrel up to 12 miles away with the first shot. Now if you research all the factors that go into the equations you will find that curvature and rotation of the earth figures in. There are also equations and charts that were in use for spotting and range finding that figured in mast height and curvature of the earth as early as the battle of
Tsushima Straight (1904). When your job is to blow holes in the other guys ship before he blows holes in yours, you need to use what works, not what is politically expedient. This link will give you an introduction: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_discussion_of_rangekeeping . So, flat earth? sorry don't buy it.
Hope this note finds you and yours well!
Many many many thanks Rob for all the work you put in your video. Please continue your good work on testing the globe, a lot of people appreciate your work. Cheers !
