with all the advances on cgi what do we know is real in the first place? cnn could use movie gfx software to create false events and we'd never know if it was a real event or not. look at the marvel movies like Avengers, they replicated new york then destroyed it. if cnn had claimed that the invasion was real and had cut out the avengers themselves then we would have bought it that this was an alien invasion. now partner cgi and ai and everything we see on our tv's could be fake and we'd never know the difference.
