Brothers and Sisters… please read the scriptures below and test yourselves to see whether you have truly received the Holy Spirit and whether you are in the faith!
I say this with the utmost respect and love for each of your walks with the Lord… but there has been a deception! When you receive the Holy Spirit, you will each have the evidence and the outward sign of speaking in tongues. The Holy Spirit is not automatically given to any of us on the confession of faith in Jesus… Acts 8:14-17 and Acts 19:1-6 explains clearly that we do not automatically receive the Spirit when we accept Christ.
Acts 8:14-17
“Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (FOR AS YET HE WAS FALLEN ON NONE OF THEM: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”
Which is pretty straight forward
Acts 19:1-6
“And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said unto them, HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST SINCE YOU BELIEVED? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”
Paul would not ask these believers if they had received the Spirit, if it was an automatic gift.
Jesus himself said in Mark 16:17-18
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
When we receive the Holy Spirit, there will be PROOF. If we have none of these things, we must question whether or not we have been filled with the Holy Spirit! Do we have the signs Jesus describes?
Every disciple in the bible spoke in tongues, from the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, to the Gentiles in Acts 10. Paul said himself in 1 Corinthians 14:18… “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:”
Jesus said in John 3:5… “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
No one will enter the kingdom of God without the Holy Spirit. Brothers and Sisters, do we have the signs that the Holy Bible describes?
Let us test ourselves against the scriptures and see whether we pass the test… 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”
Romans 8:9 has a stern warning for us not to be deceived in to think that we have the Spirit…
Romans 8:9 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
I say this with love brothers and sisters! Not for controvery and not as an opinion, but with scripture straight out of the bible! Now is the time to get ourselves sanctified and ensure that we are filled with the Holy Spirit. If we follow Jesus’ steps, we will have biblical evidence that we have received! It is the promise of God!
We can all see that the end is fast approaching. Let’s not miss out on our salvation, while we still have the chance. God doesn’t change… the way it went down in Acts, is how it still goes down today!
