Imagine today's lineup. You'd have older comics murdering like Joey Diaz, Stanhope, and Jessica Kirson. Newer comics like Mark Normand, Big Jay, Chris D, and Schultz. Bryan Callen would come on and get destroyed every time he brings up fighting or dumb animal facts. Whitney would come on and immediately get shit on for her dumb woke Hollywood takes that she gets from her dumb woke Hollywood friends. Bob Kelly would get anxiety from coming and start getting fat again. Vos would have a gig, with an actual crowd. Kevin Hart would do one episode then run back to Hollywood. And imagine all of the hacky comics getting exposed. We'd forget about Dat Phan, there'd be a dozen new ones.
No network would let it work. A couple of years ago Comedy Central gave David Spade a Tough Crowd like show and they ruined it. Instead of having comics on to make fun of and discuss topics, they also brought on 'celebrities' to do the same.
Tough Crowd was where I was introduced to Patrice O'neal. Every episode while it remained on air I would tune in hoping that Patrice would be on. And if he wasn't, I'd likely still watch anyway. No way on earth TC with Colin Quinn would see the light of day on any TV network from 2013 on up.
