Rob Skiba challenges Doug Hamp and Jim Wilhelmsen’s take on Isaiah 40:22 FYTube



Some are trying to tell us that the Hebrew word “khug” in Isaiah 40:22 should be understood to mean “to revolve” (and by implication to orbit). I cannot disagree more.

  1. The real question to be asked is this:

    If there were not a single shred of photographic "evidence" to suggest we live on a globe, and no scientist had ever suggested the idea, can anyone honestly say they could read the Bible and conclude the Earth was a sphere?

    I think the answer is no, which likely means the Bible isn't telling us that. The idea of a globe is the child of earthly wisdom, and I believe it is defenders of that wisdom that are reading worldy knowledge (foolishness) back into the text, just like those that try to square evolution, big-bang cosmology, etc…with God's Word. Doesn't fit.
