  1. We have nine (9) openings at our company and have had 24 people apply in the last year. We had seven (7) that were actually qualified and three of them were Californians. Those three were intentionally passed over even being as qualified as they were while still leaving us short staffed. Mind you this is a type of business where our salary range starts at $171,000 per year for this particular skill set. And that skill set are pilots with ATP certifications. Our salaries top out at $305,000 per year after 15 years as very few pilots, unless long termed commercial guys, can meet the requirements that we mandate. At salaries such as this you NEVER pass up someone as qualified for that type of pay. A lot of businesses are boycotting hiring anyone from California as well and even our aviation competitors have a Gentlemans agreement with us to refuse any hiring of anyone who’s lived in the state of California within the past 10 years. This is our actual business competition who has agreed to this as well. Texas is a right to work state and literally it is only against the law to discriminate against race, sexual preference and religious belief based only. It is even self-admitted that these people were not hired because of where they came from. We just simply don’t want these people here and don’t care who you are. Californians ideology whether from the left or the right has created the state that they live in to be the way that it is because of that same ideology. Even the Californians with a conservative based ideology are a bunch of idiots with some leftist ideology in their undertones. High hour commercial pilots are not abundant and even our company with over ten multi-tens of million dollar aircraft will risks the company to not hire them. THAT says something even with the limit shortage that’s going on and the severe attrition rate of aviators qualified to fly this type of aircraft. These guys and gals are capable of flying these aircraft and would do it just as good as we do here. The problem is is that their physical body as they stand came out of the state of California. They just will not be hired. By refusing to hire these people they will go back where they came from or go somewhere else. And with the hiring boycott the state has done in all occupations Californians are arriving here and THEN leaving again at a rate of 17%. That means that if you come here from California you have a 17% chance you will turn right around and leave again somewhere else due to not finding work 🤷‍♂️
