Yes Brother, Jesus suffered physically in a terrible manner, but others have suffered physically just as horribly say for example in the Holocaust, the real suffering He endured was at the hands of the Father's judgement against what the Father's Eternal, Pure and Holy Nature demanded against sin. Only the will of the Father can exist, all others' will, will be destroyed in the end, when "death is swallowed up in victory!" That is why the sun refused to shine and the world was cast into total darkness, (you don't hear anything in the annals of history about that phenomenon do you?) because the Father covered His Son from the eyes of mortal man as He delivered a punishment that can never be totally understood except by the Father and the Son. So horrible that Jesus cried out, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
So very true about the term "born again," because I have done things as equally as bad or worse than I did before becoming aware of Jesus being the Savior, as I have done since knowing Him, or rather as the scriptures say, "Now that you know God or rather ARE KNOWN OF GOD," or in another place, "now that you love God, or rather that YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD." I definitely qualify as a true Prodigal, and those who stayed with the Father have said of me, "God has shown you GREAT GRACE," I would go even further and say He has shown me Great, Great, Great Grace! And God has shown me this "Amazing Grace" because what I did I did in 'ignorance and unbelief." I can say most assuredly today, that what I do I do in total awareness, at least the awareness that my measure of faith has brought me to because I ain't on the mountaintop looking down as I tell me 27 year old son, and I do what I do by the "faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." Amen
