David should have put aside his love for his son & delivered BLIND justice to his son. Absalom meeted out Gods justice when David didnt. David became complicit in 2 crimes. Allowing the rape of his daughter to go unpunished & allowing a man to cast out his "wife" without providing "recompense"/support. The act was the physical representation of a man & woman becoming one. I believe their is a christian Movie that showcases the callousness of casting out ones wife (for various) reasons but essential the reason is selfishness. The woman is considered "soiled". No longer a prized member of society. They are viewed as having something wrong with them. This is not speaking about the ones who our cast out in justice for "disobeying" Gods laws. A person is casting sin away from them; distancing themselves or separating themselves from sin.
