One of the most terrifying thing about the movie Incantation is how it incorporates esoteric Buddhist culture into its lore. We get temples, villages, symbols, chants and hand symbols that to the untrained eye, may seem like they belong in some rural, religious cult. And indeed, it does have that effect of making the whole story seem more plausible – like there could be this vengeful goddess preying on mortals or that there is some ancient curse that’s so obscure no one has heard of it. As we dive into today’s episode, we’ll explore how much of the movie was inspired from real world mythology and culture, as well as establishing some links to a pre-existing deity that might be comparable to the ominous Mother Buddha!

That chant give chills everytime
In the the 'Tevijja Sutta', Gautama Buddha says that he knows Brahma, the world of Brahma, the way to the world of Brahma, and the path of practice by which the world of Brahma can be gained. Here, according to Gautama Buddha, Nirvana is the way to a union with Brahma.
Gautama Buddha has also called God as Amitabha (One with immeasurable radiance) and Amitayus (One with eternal life). According to him, if one remembers Amitabha in one's lifetime, does good deeds, and dies having faith in Amitabha, then such a person will be resurrected in Sukhavati (paradise) in the life hereafter.
Both Amitabha and Amitayus are the attributes of Brahma, the Almighty God. When one comes to understand this then for him/her the mystery of the God of the Buddha is solved.

The other commenter is right, there are so many malevolent beings out there (asura) pretending to be a deva. There are so many sects of twisted buddhism who were deprived of teachings from original sources, claiming they were protected by these "beings", in the movie it was explained the concept of "Blessings", which works 2 ways like an extortion by these malevolent beings.
There are stories in Hinduism about depiction of head and bowl.. Something around stopping a daemon to ressurect because it can ressrect from its own blood.
I think this deity represent in buddhist as Hariti Ajima or Yakshini Hariti who once devour children and take vow not to harm Children in Magadha❤
