Satan is our accuser, or our prosecutor, like a lawyer or attorney. Jesus is our defense that pleads, or intercedes on our behalf by his blood.
I've always struggled with the book of Job, thank you for this.
There is only one concern. Proof…why? Why prove to satan anything. One of few favorite quotes "A lion does not consort with sheep". satan is vermin, permanently exiled for betrayal and is owed nothing.
I've lived a rewarding life full of purpose – yes, this is first and foremost through the grace of God. Second because of my hard work and unwavering discipline. Those with less occasionally ridicule me are effortlessly ignored.
Why would God feel obligated to illustrate proof to one who betrayed him, never to be forgiven?
It seems as if when the angels came to present themselves that satan also had to. Scripture says that the angels came to present themselves before God. Even though he is fallen, satan is still an angel. Although he is an angel of darkness. I wonder if when the angels were called to present themselves, that satan had to as well!
As the story moves along and God tells satan he can do whatever he wants “only on the man do not lay a finger.” I can easily see satan rolling his eyes and maybe muttering “figures!” And while Job was complaining, I imagine satan laughing like crazy and God’s look of displeasure as He drums heavenly fingers. I can easily picture satan laughing a phony laugh, wiping the tears from his eyes, like Goose did in the first Top Gun when he was leaning on Maverick, laughing and telling Ice “ah you’re killing me!” Yes I could easily see satan doing that to God!! But that’s just my silly imagination.
