So….nobody can answer that last question…. cos Einsteins model goes out the window both ways…. 'DROPS MIC'
Who is the audience for this?
anyone who's been in the Navy knows you can only see objects at sea maybe some 15 to 20 miles away. I was a radar operator and surface search radar can only see objects some 30 miles away because anything further than that and it's over the horizon, because the earth is round.
Most comments didn't even watch the video. Globe guys contradicted themselves multiple times
The conundrum for scientists when they visit these types of debates is that they only help these cultists armed with anecdotal evidence feel they are at the same level of knowledge as the scientists who have spent years and years of studying and building upon the research of scientists who have come before them. There is no way to win an argument with someone who only believes things based on gut feelings and faith, they will always walk away thinking they proved their point somehow. Science constantly questions its own theories and debates within its own peer groups how to come to a consensus from shared research. Flat earthers, creationists, people who believe in high frequencies of paranormal events, are all basing their ideas on unprovable, faith based, anecdotal, and anomaly oriented evidence. It is easy to scare anyone into believing in ghosts and demons when there is a dark and stormy night because we all have animal survival instincts which make us want to fear the unknown for our own safety, science has to argue against these primal fears by showing what is really out there in the dark, and has to combat the subconscious unexplained fears which contribute to the resolve of the ignorant lay people to continue to hold onto these superstitions.
