  1. I keep six different YouTube accounts set-up. I use each account for watching a specific type of programming. I have been carefully customizing my algorithiums for about five years so far. I almost never get suggestions for crap I don't want.

  2. Man, I remember growing up in the 2000s when YT just started popping off. Watching zeitgeist for the first time, ad loose change, then Alex Jones, then this real cool crazy ass aliens are demons from another dimension, then David childress and the pyramid code then David Icke and lizzid people. Some of it stuck and some was obviously silly. But that was back when YT was the real wild west. I miss those days, I feel like in an effort to snuff truly interesting if controversial content they've homogenized the results into an almost intentionally self destructive direction, but not a direction that is going to cause people to question whatever the mainstream con senses is.

  3. The reason why they made the recommended section and the algorithms is because innocent/young people were getting scary or inappropriate ads popping up. They made a big deal about making the ads interest based because having them random was disastrous. They did this years ago. I remember because I was a “victim” of a scary ad, and I was glad when I didn’t have to worry about it again. Just don’t scroll.

  4. As someone who actually lives in Portland I can confirm there was zero “beautiful days” going on when this was taking place.
This dudes friend is clearly a biased liar who was in denial and trying to downplay the carnage and destruction that was plaguing our city.
And in a much smaller way still is.
