So, a friend just sent me a link to an article that was published yesterday (12/18/2017) regarding a ancient map, created by someone named Urbano Monte in 1587. Wow. Is this a crazy cool map! Here is the link to the article I am reading in this video:

Rob, can you explain why it is needed to create the equidistant lines in the gleason map? I get it, you just need to look to the sun to see that a globe is impossible, but shouldn't we be able to create an equal distance map of earth, like taking a picture fromthe sky ( if we could) ??

I prefer to place east at the top. All maps place north at the top. The internet places the place names
correctly on google chrome too.
