  1. Yes, it was Jerome of the 4th century who translate Eusebius' Corrupted Greek text (Bible) into Latin, which became the official Bible of the Roman catholic church during the dark ages until the reformation discovered the textus receptus after the fall of The byzantine empire in 1453, later in 1516 Erasmus translated the new testament into the language of the common people of Europe, then followed Martin Luther, William Tyndale etc. It was a Pope who commissioned Jerome to do that. This was when the pope( in the early stages of the Papacy) was now coming to papal supermacy.. It was deceptive that they called the Roman catholic Bible, Latin Vulgate, Because Vulgate means; common, and only the leaders of the RC church knew the Latin and not the 'common' people. It was to place the interpretations of men upon and above the word of God In order to keep the people in deception as to the plan of Salvation and Christ. Rome sold the grace of God for filthy lucre, she had not change and will not change. See Jeremiah 13:23 and Revelation 13:1-10.
