Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, preached and spoke about demons and the devil. The truth is, if you are a true born-again child of God, you will, at one time or another, face the devil and his army. Demons are not as powerful as most believers think. Many believers still fear demons, meanwhile, we have authority over demons. They do not want us to know it. Can demons affect this world? Yes. Can demons afflict people? Yes. Can demons destroy someone’s life? Yes. Are demons powerful? Yes, they are because they are supernatural beings and they operate from the spirit realm. However, what empowers them the most is people’s ignorance.
James 4:7 gives us great insight on how to deal with the devil and his cohorts. You have the authority to resist the devil, and the Bible says he will flee from you. Do you believe the word of God? If you do, then consider the fact that you can resist the devil and his demons and be victorious. Can you try to imagine a fleeing demon? Can you get that into reality? In order to resist the devil, the condition is that you must submit yourself to God. But the devil does not want you to know that submitting to God will give you the power to resist him. This is one of the reasons the devil always fights our submission to God. He wants us to stay independent of God. He does not want us to see the need to stay under God’s authority and be in absolute subjection to Him because he knows that if you submit to God, you will have a legal ground to resist him.
