Nice video specially when it avoids to say that Drake didn't accoplished a single victory since the the defeat of the Spanish Armada (1588). Not to mention that Drake is the main responsible of the severe defeat of the English Armada next year. In this campain he couldn't take the small town of La Coruña because the great defense of the local women. Queen Elisabeth was angry with him since then because he failed time after time. Drake is one of the most overrated admirals in history.
Drake lost the battle of The Counter Armada in 1589, Then The Battle of San Juan in 1595, Then The Battle of Panama in 1596 too. 3 last big battles Drake lost all. The other admiral killed on that 1595 San Juan battle was admiral Hawkins. That one was dumped/buried at sea in front of San Juan due his body was shredded by cannon fire. Drake was wounded less and died weeks later in Panama.
So 2 of the 3 Admirals that battled the Armada were killed in The 1595 battle of San Juan Forts. Failed. 2 of the 3 Admirals british of the Armada won, That San Juan battle was a big lost. British know that, but dont want to mention 1595 San Juan battle, or battle of Cartagena, Colombia big lost battles they failed to take spanish towns and instead they lost most of the ships or sailors..
Having received a Spanish education there was nothing good said about him, but I recognize the truth is probably somewhere in the middle between villain and explorer.
It is my understanding that Drake had a brother that lived in what is now call Penn area and I am from his family, so Sir Francis Drake is my great uncle
