Thanks mate👍🏴☠️
Apparently recently there’s new documented evidence of how captain Kidd got arrested. Bellemont wasn’t actually the one to cause kidd’s arrest, and he also didn’t lure Kidd to Boston. Captain Kidd was actually dueling another certain pirate in early 1699; an unnamed red haired one, and he was dueling him for his treasure. The red haired one nearly killed Kidd with his sweeping sword attack which he named “Godly Justice”, which inflicted severe cut marks all across.
This unnamed pirate then transferred Kidd to the British government, as he was offered a large sum for capturing Kidd in exchange for amnesty. This worked, with him bringing Kidd to Boston to give him up to the British, as well as being rewarded in return. The British didn’t want to credit that a pirate got kidd, so they lied and said that the governor of New York was the one to trick him to go to Boston. Afterwords, the British parliament reportedly called captain Kidd “Useless Captain Kidd” as he was easily defeated by a relatively unknown pirate.
The rest of this story is true though! I really like the intrigue of it overall.
This is so exciting, I been doing my family tree and his wife Sarah from New York and William Kidd are my 8th great grandparents.. this is awesome to find this information thank you for this video. I respect him so much it seems as though he didn't want to cause trouble a noble person in my book even though it seems pressure got the best of him
do you have any idea where the treasure is
