The research in the Almeida Corrected version found the text in different places containing the word “Meribah.” Let’s begin beyond the text of Exodus 7. Note that the mention of Meribah is in verse 7, but we’ll continue from the verse to have a good idea of the context in which this happened. Then, the entire congregation of the children of Israel departed from the desert of Sin in their journey, following the commandment of the Lord. They camped at Rephidim, and⁸ there was no water for the people to drink.
However, God gave the people to Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you test the Lord? Since the people were thirsty, they murmured against Moses, saying, ‘Why did you bring us up from Egypt to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?'” Moses cried to the Lord, saying, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
The Lord said to Moses, “Go before the people, take with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the rod with which you struck the river. Go, behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel and called the name of that place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel and because they tested the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
In this first text, we see that Moses was afraid of losing control of the people or being stoned because the people were dissatisfied. God commanded Moses to strike the rock so that water would come out, and Moses did as commanded. However, this text does not mention the sin Moses supposedly committed.

  1. JUST LIKE OUR LORD JESUS WAS STRUCK and CRUCIFIED ONCE FOR US AND OUR SINS ,SO HAD TO BE TGE SAME WITH THE ROCK THAT MOSES STRUCK THE FIRST TIME….BECAUSE OUR LORD JESUS COULD NO BE STRUCK OR CRUCIFIED TWICE ,NEITHER COULD MOSES STRIKE THE ROCK ( JESUS ) TWICE,BUT HE DID….WHICH HE SHOULDN T HAVE….YES…HE WAS ANGRY AT THE PEOPLE…BUT HE NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING AND TRUSTING IN YEHOVAH ( YHVH….LORD JESUS)
WE ARE ALSO TO SPEAK TO TBE ROCK ( JESUS )…AS IN PRAYER….TALK TO LORD JESUS….ANYTIME …ANYWHERE…..

  2. Moses has returned.
Moses died, and buried himself in a valley in the land of Moab (water-father = Aquarius = Moses), "but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day" (Deut. 34.6). Although one hundred and twenty years old, " his eyes," it is said, " were not dim (his stars shine as brightly now as they did then), nor his natural force abated (the rainy season still comes on every year) " However, the people wept thirty days, i.e., during the passage of the Sun through Aquarius, the Wash-pot (Ps 60.8), or the rainy month of January.

  3. Exodus 33:1
[1]The Lord said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought out of Egypt, and go to the land that I promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and to their descendants.

    Numbers 20:12
[12]But the Lord reprimanded Moses and Aaron. He said, “Because you did NOT HAVE ENOUGH FAITH TO ACKNOWLEDGE my holy power BEFORE THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL, you will not lead them into the land that I promised to give them.”

    Deuteronomy 31:7-8
[7]Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all the people of Israel, “Be determined and confident; you are the one who will lead these people to occupy the land that the Lord promised to their ancestors.
[8]The Lord himself will lead you and be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid.”
