Pocahontas didn’t meet the white settlers with resentment and violence, but instead with compassion and love. She would even stand in the way of her own father and chief to save the life of one colonist and was said to become well liked and adored by the English settlers.

  1. Their son Thomas was born in England. He was their only child. Disney has her story sooooo wrong. She was my ancestor. I know her story well. Oh, she wasn't raped! Powhatan Confederacy, now, what's left of it are called the Renape tribe located in New Jersey. The Powhatan Confederacy stretched from the James River in Virginia up the Eastern shore to lower New England. Thomas was left in England with his uncle, then when grown, came back to the colonies. Pocahontas was buried in England and the Renape have petitioned England for her remains and England refuses. Just in case anyone wants the rest of the story.
