I love this series, many of them I have listened to three times, just so that I can really learn the information. It is so good! I love listening to Pastor Doug. I was stuck at home today. Our church, also SDA has an online service too. So I listened to my pastor preach today. Then the Sabbath School class got blanked out for some reason. So, I immediately went to my subscriptions, and sought out Pastor Doug, Amazing Facts, and bam, here are these videos to watch! I should not be amazed, but I am, amazed at how blessed my Sabbath is right now! My own pastor delivered a fantastic message from Galatians, and now watching several of these videos in this series, is just awesome. I stop and write a few emails to friends and to my Dad who goes to the same church, some of what I am learning, careful to include the title of the series, and name of the message. HE, too, now is subscribed to Pastor Doug. WE never grew up, SDA, I converted 14 years ago, began telling my parents about it.
My folks thought I had joined a cult, however, my Dad realized I had found the truth. My mom, raised as a Mennonite did not want to hear it. Sadly, she passed away, in 2018–but not before she met my pastor! He ministered to her on her death bed more than once. She felt the love of Jesus oozing from this person. She heard the gospel in a new and loving way. She realized I was not crazy, and forgave me. Of course, I forgave her. Just hours after this epiphany she passed. The first Sabbath after her passing, I got my Dad to come visit, and bam, all of my friends, just loved and hugged my Dad, and several widowers and widows shared their testimonies of long beloved dedicated marriages, and my Dad found fellowship. Now he has been attending with me for the past 4 1/2 years! He has grown so much spiritually. He now believes that it was God's plan for his wife of 56 years to go to her rest, so that he could attend church again. As the last 15 years of her life, they could not go to church. He longed for the fellowship of church again. TV preaching was not enough for him, as it was for my mom. HE wanted more and felt himself perishing! He still misses his wife, but knows God is keeping her safe, even in the grave, and that upon the Second Coming and resurrection of those who believe, he will be reunited with his dear wife, and Jesus will change us all in that moment, as we put on immortality.
God bless the SDA church, and I pray every day for those still in the Sunday system, those who truly love Jesus, and those who are lost in the system, and want more, that they will find their way to our Church, other SDA churches in our area. I have visited more than a dozen SDA churches in our area, all teach the truth of the BIBLE, no manmade rules. All are in Unity with each other. I am confident that no matter what city I am in, or state or even if I ever wound up in another country–I would be 100 percent welcome, and comfortable in God's church–if I do not stray from the SDA denomination! PRAISE the Lord!
I have NEVER experienced this kind of feeling of security, safety, and faith before in any denomination. My faith is in God, not the people. people can let us down, because none of us are perfect–we put our faith and trust in Jesus, allow HIM to lead us, and we learn to forgive each other, love each other, and to accept one another–In the space of 15 years I had been to three different churches–in my young adulthood. When I hit the doors of Hood View, Seventh Day Adventist Church, I came home. It has been the best 14 years of my life and counting! I will be 60 in December! My brothers now are SDA as is my sister! Praise God, more importantly, we have all been re-baptized, and renewed our faith commitment to Christ Jesus–and became Sabbath Keepers, keeping all of God's Commandments. God has completely changed my Dad. God answered a 50 year prayer that I prayed as a 7 year old, asking God to change my Dad into a better person. He is now the DAD I always wanted, who follows I Corinthians 13 to the letter–the love chapter of the Bible! It changed our dysfunctional family into a loving close knit family. Praise God! WE share the gospel with others, and we love people, even our enemies we have won over–because of Christ Jesus!
