Rachel was very hurt by her father’s deception and her sister being given to Jacob those idols meant nothing to her, her love for Jacob; would have caused her to worship the God of Jacob! If put in her shoes wouldn’t you want to hurt your father back ? Jacob could have gone along with the theft knowing those gods mean nothing and also show lane a lesson! IMO both Jacob and Tachel had been cheated by lane

Ive been thinking about Rachel and I wonder if it wasn't just resentment and anger toward her father that motivated her. She had to watch her sister with the man she loved for 7 years. Then she was also not going to have much. With her father changing the wages, they probably were often short of funds as a family. As second wife in a less affluent family, she would have been lower on the totem pole than her sister and it was her father who did all that. Taking the idols was a way to get back at him for all the abuse she felt.
