When i first read Sitchen I also wondered when the gods (Annunaki) left. I finally figured it was around 1800 bc. This coincides with the Bronze Age collapse. This is just a simple thought of mine, but I know there has to be a line in the sand when humans were left on their own.
I flash back to some kind of past time. I wish i were just back in 2200bc. Maybe it was simpler, or worse. I just know it would be with nature and less phone and money lies.
Excellent brief rundown. A question which keeps coming up, as a follower of Abraham, is which of these gods was "the one god" as Abraham professed to follow?
For the Christian one God, i see elements of the angry god from Enlil, and the benevolent god in Enki. Yet i can almost see where the "wise one" who taught man so man advanced things in technology would have been Enki. Yet that persona is also attributed to "satan" and is reviled. Im sure it is not all so cut and dry as the Biblical account is described.
Yet im still wondering who did Abraham pick to worship as "the one god". Is that something Sitchen might have covered with any detail? Thanks.
Who was Anunnaki enemies?
